Event Central

Hands on Charlotte mobilizes citizens in direct service in the local community. Come participate in the annual service event to commemorate the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday with three simultaneous, multi-faceted volunteer fairs that will give individuals, families and groups the opportunity to come together in a spirit of service and friendship, thereby paying tribute to the legacy of Dr. King. These volunteer projects will take place at three local schools:  East Mecklenburg High School, Harding University High School, and Blythe Elementary School.

A range of on-site service projects will include, but are subject to change:

- Inspecting and sorting donated food and clothing- Videotaping personal thank you messages for troops serving overseas- Creating bookmarks that encourage reading to elementary school students- Contributing to blood drives, food drives and book drives, among others.
